MEDICATIONS FOR OVULATION INDUCTION
Where infertility has become a widespread issue in this era,
the treatment of female and Male Infertility problems has also evolved
as the most demanding and fruitful medical advancement. Infertility is a
disorder in medical terms relating to the female and male reproductive system
whereby a couple is unable to reproduce naturally. Whenever the cause behind
infertility is a female partner among a couple, due to her disability to give
birth to a child, it is known as Female Infertility. This could happen
because of a number of biological disorders in a female reproductive system. However,
whenever the real underlying cause for the inability to conceive and deliver a
child by a mother is due to his male partner, it is known as male infertility
in the medical field. Various reasons support the existence of this disorder in
males. Nevertheless, who so ever among the couple is responsible, the medical
advancements have made it possible to resolve the issues of both kinds of
infertilities and make the conception and birth of a healthy child via
prescribed medications and surgical procedures.
Whether the case is of primary infertility or secondary
infertility, medications, and surgical procedures help improve the reproductive health of the defective partner and suggest relevant Assistive reproductive technology (ART).
Female Infertility:
Similarly, in the case of female infertility, many biological
reasons become the evident source of disorder in a female reproductive system.
Many factors like female partner’s maternal age, weight, health, and lifestyle
contribute enough to trigger a major disorder of female infertility. Likewise, various medical issues relating to the female reproductive system become the cause
of infertility. The most common causes of female infertility are issues
relating to the uterus and fallopian tubes. The weakness and unhealthy condition of
these two organs produce fertility issues in a female body. The insufficient
production of eggs during the female ovulation period holds major resistance in the conception and live birth of a child. The presence of tumors, misbalancing of
hormones, trauma, and other causes support the issue of infertility in females.
Female Infertility Treatment:
Assistive Reproductive Technology (ART) helps in the diagnosis of
the type of infertility and provides related consultancy along with medical and
surgical treatments required. The most commonly used medical assistance is the administration
of ovulation induction medications.
Ovulation Induction Medicines:
In case of insufficient production of eggs in a female body
during her ovulation period, the first line of treatment is carried through
medications. The treatment via medications is applicable where sufficient and
healthy production of eggs is required for the achievement of pregnancy. Polycystic
Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), disorders of the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, and higher
prolactin levels becomes the cause of failure of sufficient ovulation.
Medications to induce ovulation are advised with the onset of
menstruation to stimulate the production of eggs during the ovulation period. For ovulation
induction, Ovulation-Inducing tablets and strong injections stimulate
the ovaries and results in the production of eggs containing follicles. While
administering ovulation induction medications like letrozole and clomiphene
citrate tablets or human menopausal gonadotropin hormone injections,
continuous monitoring is done with blood tests and ultrasound.
Once an appropriate
amount of follicles are observed and sufficient production of eggs are
expected, HCG injections are prescribed for prolonging the intercourse time.
